Hello fellow Students Big Wig Zephyr here,

Welcome to my page on the Student council blog!

27th September 2016

Hello and welcome to my blog.

My name is Ulrika and I'm in 8th grade. I am the new president of the student council for this academic year of 2016/17. In the council, we have decided to have our meetings every Friday as it can be a more effective way to do something for our school.
Last Friday we discussed having school t-shirt's as a lot of students would like to have a uniform. Jessica (vice president) and I have discussed this with Mr Robert and the students at AIS may soon be seeing some of these t-shirts.

The t-shirt will be navy blue with the school logo on it.
If you want to read more about our last meeting, you can visit the Vice Presidents (deputy big wig) page.

Kind Regards

Ulrika (President)

Here, you will be able to see weekly updates on what myself and the Student council members have been discussing. I will also been posting pictures and videos so you get a sneak peek in our meetings! I will post these things every Friday (when we have our meetings)

Deputy Big Wig (Jessica) also has her very own blog page as well! You can go click on her page to see what she’s up to!

Remember if you want your Student council class members to talk about a certain topic in a Student council meeting, let them know so that I can schedule a whole meeting on that topic.

Update: May 29th 2016

Hello again everyone!

Last Friday me, Jessica and the student council members discussed something called the 'Advice box'. This is a box the myself and the student council have made so that you fellow students can make suggestions on what you would like to see in the school and what you think the school could improve on. We decided that the answers to your questions could maybe be posted on the blog.

The 'Advice box' will definitely be up at Miss Chantale's desk by Wednesday so if you have any ideas, feel free to go and drop a piece of paper off in the box. Please also note that as it is coming closer to the end of the year, we may not be able to complete or talk about all of your wonderful suggestions in our meetings and not all of those ideas may be possible as it may cost a lot of money.

I hope you all have a lovely week!

Megan Williams (President Big Wig)

Update: May 18th 2016
17th May speech from the Big Wig, Megan:

Firstly, thank you to all the parents and student that took part in the parade on May 17th. I want to say a special thanks to all the grade 2 parents and students for organising such a fantastic event.
These events are wonderful opportunities for us all to gather as a school, and whilst being proud of our diverse backgrounds, celebrating May 17th is an important part of integrating into the country we have all chosen to live in.

This is only my second year celebrating May 17th and the sight of crowds of smiling people, all ages, dressed in traditional clothing, proudly waving flags is something I find inspiring.
However, one thing that beats all the flags, clothes, seeing the Crown Prince and his family - is coming back to the school and tucking into all e amazing f prepared by our International Family.

Thank you

Kind Regards, Megan W
